Week Beginning 24th August 2020

As always, this week has been very busy with the celebration of two special events Loy Krathong and Book Character/Halloween. Children were invited to dress up for both days. I was delighted with the Y5/6 responses and wish to thank parents for helping their children organising costumes twice in one week. Your children looked great. 

ในสัปดาห์นี้พวกเราก็ยุ่งมากเหมือนเช่นเคย กับการเฉลิมฉลองสองกิจกรรมพิเศษ ได้แก่ ลอยกระทงและการแต่งตัวเลียนแบบตัวละครในหนังสือหรือวันฮาโลวีน เด็ก ๆ ได้รับเชิญให้แต่งตัวสำหรับกิจกรรมทั้งสองวัน ครูรู้สึกดีใจมากที่เด็กๆได้ให้ความร่วมมือเป็นอย่างดี และขอขอบคุณผู้ปกครองที่ช่วยจัดหาชุดให้เด็กๆทั้งสองวัน เด็กๆทุกคนแต่งตัวได้ยอดเยี่ยมมาก

Loy Krathong วันลอยกระทง

While UDIS is an international school, we are mindful that we are based in Thailand and it is most appropriate that we celebrate the major Thai celebrations such as Loy Krathong. The children learned about how Loy Krathong began and each made their own krathong using natural biodegradable materials, to reinforce that we can celebrate without harming our environment. 

แม้ว่า UDIS จะเป็นโรงเรียนนานาชาติ แต่เราก็ตระหนักดีว่าโรงเรียนเรานั้นตั้งอยู่ในประเทศไทยและเหมาะสมที่จะมีการเฉลิมฉลองงานที่สำคัญๆของไทยเช่นวันลอยกระทง เด็ก ๆ ได้เรียนรู้ว่าเกี่ยวกับความเป็นมาของการลอยกระทงและแต่ละคนทำกระทงของตัวเองโดยใช้วัสดุที่ย่อยสลายได้ตามธรรมชาติเพื่อเป็นการตอกย้ำว่าเราสามารถเฉลิมฉลองได้โดยไม่ทำร้ายสิ่งแวดล้อม

Book Character/Halloween Day 

วันฮาโลวีนและการแต่งตัวเลียนแบบตัวละครในหนังสือ 

Once again, an interesting day where everyone joined in with the dressing up. This week we used a spooky poem for our handwriting and ended the week with a party where we enjoyed BBQ, Halloween Music, dancing and and the traditional Halloween game of Apple Bobbing.

เป็นวันที่น่าสนใจ ที่ทุกคนเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการแต่งตัวเป็นตัวละครต่างๆ สัปดาห์นี้เราใช้บทกวีเรื่องน่ากลัวๆในการคัดลายมือของเราและปิดท้ายสัปดาห์ด้วยปาร์ตี้ที่พวกเราสนุกกับบาร์บีคิว เปิดเพลงฮาโลวีน เต้นรำและเล่นเกมฮาโลวีนแบบดั้งเดิมคือเกมส์ Apple Bobbing

Spellings this week การสะกดคำของสัปดาห์นี้

This week is a little different as there one set of spellings for the whole class. These of the key words that underpin our IB Learner profile.

การสะกดคำในสัปดาห์นี้จะแตกต่างจากที่ผ่านมาเล็กน้อย เนื่องจากมีคำศัพท์แค่ชุดเดียวให้

ซึ่งคำศัพท์เหล่านี้เป็นคำศัพท์ที่เกี่ยวกับหลักสูตร IB ของเรา

Our learning next week การเรียนของสัปดาห์หน้า

• We will be exploring the links between percentages, fractions and decimals
• We will be meeting some Y7/Y8 students to find out about their experiences of the PYP Exhibition last year
• We will continue to learn about micro-organisms, being safe in the science lab and using equipment correctly
• The children will learn about what a hyphen is and how it is used in writing
• Our spellings will be based on the attributes of the PYP Learner Profile
• Learn about prefixes and suffixes. (See the presentation below)

• เราจะเรียนว่าระหว่างเปอร์เซ็นต์ เศษส่วนและทศนิยมมีความเกี่ยวข้องกันยังไง
• เราจะพบปะกับนักเรียน Y7 / Y8 บางคนเพื่อเรียนรู้สอบถามเกี่ยวกับประสบการณ์ของพวกเขาในนิทรรศการ PYP เมื่อปีที่แล้ว
• เราจะเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับจุลินทรีย์ต่อจากอาทิตย์นี้ และจะเน้นเรื่องความปลอดภัยในห้องปฏิบัติการวิทยาศาสตร์และการใช้อุปกรณ์อย่างถูกต้อง
