Week Beginning 24th August 2020

    

 

On Friday, Y5/6 had the opportunity to experience a little of what it might be like to be a migrant leaving home to escape danger. Children were asked to pack a bag for a journey that would include walking for about 10 hours, followed by 4 hours in a long tailed boat and a 3 hour jungle trek in order to reach safety. They were attached to their bag for the whole day and responsible for looking after it. During the day, we simulated some of the experiences real refugees might experience.

ในวันศุกร์ ห้อง Y5 / 6 ได้มีโอกาสสัมผัสประสบการณ์เล็กน้อยของการเป็นผู้อพยพออกจากบ้านเพื่อหนีจากอันตราย เด็ก ๆ ต้องแพ็คกระเป๋าสำหรับการเดินทางซึ่งรวมถึงการเดินประมาณ 10 ชั่วโมงตามด้วยเรือหางยาว 4 ชั่วโมงและเดินป่า 3 ชั่วโมงเพื่อให้ปลอดภัย พวกเขาต้องนำกระเป๋าติดตัวตลอดทั้งวันและรับผิดชอบในการดูแลมัน ในระหว่างวันเราได้จำลองประสบการณ์จริงบางอย่างที่ผู้ลี้ภัยอาจต้องเจอ

Children were asked to pack a bag in less than 15 minutes. We looked at the choices made and considered what was essential and what were uneccessary luxuries. Most children brought some nourishment. Were the inclusion of canned food, granola bars and protein powder drinks the best choices?

Daewa, Liew and Kevin are the latest recipients of a pen license and can now use a gel pen for their learning at school. เดวา, หลิว และ เควิน ได้รับใบอนุญาตให้ใช้ปากการและตอนนี้สามารถใช้ปากกาเจลเพื่อการเรียนรู้ที่โรงเรียนได้แล้ว

Mark has just completed our Multiplication challenge.

This week there was House Assembly Volleyball competition which was won by the black team.

สัปดาห์นี้มีการแข่งขันวอลเลย์บอลในชั่วโมง Assembly ซึ่งชนะโดยทีมสีดำ

Watches in Y5/Y6

We want children in Y5/Y6 to be as independent as possible which includes being able to organise themselves. I have noticed that very few children are wearing wrist watches. Please try to send your child to school wearing a watch. A cheap and simple one is absolutely fine.

เราต้องการให้เด็กใน Y5 / 6 สามารถจัดระเบียบตัวเองได้ ซึ่งผมสังเกตเห็นว่ามีเด็กจำนวนน้อยมากที่สวมนาฬิกาข้อมือ ผมอยากลองให้บุตรหลานของท่านสวมใส่นาฬิกามาโรงเรียน ซึ่งเป็นอันที่ธรรมดาๆและราคาถูก

Please indicate your preferred times e.g. lst,2nd,3rd etc. Appointments will be allocated in the order they are received. At the meeting, we shall discuss your child’s progress and their end of term report.
