A very special homework activity this week!
กิจกรรมการบ้านสุดพิเศษสัปดาห์นี้!
We have been learning about migration and what it might be like to be a refugee. The children are imagining that they have to leave their home in Udon and have only 15 minutes to pack a bag. They will be responsible for looking after this bag during a walk to Nong Khai, a four hour longtail boat ride along the Mekhong followed by a three hour jungle trek to safety.
On Friday 20th November, the children are asked to bring their packed bag to school for one day. During the day the children will be reponsible for their own bag at all times. Please let the children be independent in preparing their bag. Don't prompt them about what to pack!!!

Handwriting Skills

Student success (Year 5/6)
Developing a fluent joined handwriting style is an important
skill which Year 5/6 students have been working on. When they show the ability
to do this consistently, they will receive their Pen License which entitles
them to use an ink or gel pen for their learning at school. Here are our first
awardees, but there are sure to be more additions soon!
การเขียนตัวเขียนด้วยลายมือที่คล่องแคล่วเป็นทักษะสำคัญที่นักเรียนในชั้นปีที่ 5/6 ได้ฝึกฝนมา และเมื่อนักเรียนคนใดแสดงความสามารถในการเขียนตัวเขียนอย่างสม่ำเสมอพวกเขาจะได้รับใบประกาศ Pen License ซึ่งจะมีสิทธิ์ในการใช้หมึกหรือปากกาเจลเพื่อการเรียนที่โรงเรียน และนี่คือผู้ได้รับรางวัลคนแรกๆของเรา แต่จะมีเพิ่มเติมในเร็ว ๆ นี้!

During the past week, students across PY have carried out a number of assessment tasks, which will assist with our report writing. I have been delighted with the attitudes displayed by Y5/Y6 and the mature manner in which they participated in the process. The children had an opportunity to practice their test taking skills and some children said that they actually enjoyed the tests!
ในช่วงสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมานักเรียนใน PY ได้ทำการประเมินหลายๆอย่าง ซึ่งจะมีส่วนช่วยในการเขียนรายงานของเรา ครูรู้สึกดีใจกับทัศนคติที่แสดงออกโดยนักเรียน Y5 / Y6 และท่าทีที่เป็นผู้ใหญ่ที่พวกเขามีส่วนร่วมในการประเมินนี้ เด็ก ๆ มีโอกาสฝึกทักษะการทำข้อสอบและเด็ก ๆ บางคนก็บอกว่าพวกเขาสนุกกับการทำข้อสอบจริงๆ!
Internet Safety
ความปลอดภัยทางอินเทอร์เน็ต
Our PY assembly was led by Y1/Y2 and was based on the theme of internet safety. The whole of PY participated and set a new UDIS record for the largest group of children to participate in a Kahoot Quiz. Of course, all of the questions related to internet safety!

In Literacy this week we have been learning about the prefixes mal- meaning bad or wrong and super- meaning above or over.

Exhibition Meeting
การประชุมเกี่ยวกับนิทรรศการ
Please keep the date of Thursday 26th November at 15.10 free as we shall be holding a meeting about the PYP Exhibition which we have begun to work towards already. This is a real community project and we are looking for parents and teacher to work together to guide children through this process. The meeting will be held in the Y5/6 classroom.

การเรียนการสอนในสัปดาห์หน้า
- Imagining the life of a refugee.
- Becoming an expert about a specific country, researching and describing a forced migration due to some form of danger.
- Know that for some migration is a choice, but for others is a necessity to stay safe.
- Be able to give at least five reasons why people may migrate.
- Packing a bag in 15 minutes and bringing it to school on Friday. (see above)
- Using sorting keys to classify living things.
- Using the microscopes.
- Short and long methods of multiplication and division.
